The Wolfforth Economic Development Corporation was established in September, 2002, following the successful outcome of a 4B Sales Tax Election in Wolfforth, Texas. Wolfforth EDC is funded entirely by a .005 cent sales tax and governed by a seven member board, appointed by the Wolfforth City Council. Wolfforth EDC believes that West Texas communities who work together have a stronger voice in the economic and political arenas. To support that philosophy, WEDC is a member of the High Ground of Texas, which is a coalition of communities and organizations cooperatively marketing West Texas. The High Ground provides a variety of economic development resources to its members. The mission of Wolfforth EDC is to promote managed growth by recruiting quality business and family projects and developing and redeveloping community assets to make Wolfforth THE place to be.
